Shapely Body
If you are thinking that a big amount of exercises
makes the gymnasts so flexible, you are wrong. A pretty intensive training
can bring you muscular fatigue. Your body will be tired even in the
morning after waking up and you won't get to do anything over the day.
The correct is to have a program of specific exercises for each muscular
group and these exercises must be quality.
Take a look at below sample: in the image 1 I am almost in a extending
legs trying to do a " sit head " (to sit down over my own
head) and my arms are leaning in the ground, in the previous position
to the head. In the image 2 it's the same pose, however the arms are
extended in the subsequent position to the head.

In spite of the likeness among these two exercises they aren't the same.
The arms are extended ahead (image 2) and this position contribute better
to the stretching of the muscles of the chest and of the abdomen. The
exercice becomes better because there are more muscular groups being
affected.
Measure instruments:
It's important to you to be aware of your own limit and to know up until
where you reach. It is important to know which is your limit because
time after time it must be surpassed at least a little bit. If you don't
have any professional measure instrument don't worry. Here are some
cool tips. Catch any adhesive ribbon and make several demarcations at
the ground of your room and measure the distances with a measuring tape.
Write over them the little measures scribbles as the below example (click

These demarcations and its measures should
be fixed and they cannot leave the place. Otherwise you will lose your
references. Write down your progress in a table as well as the dates
when you made the measurements. This control is very important because,
with the time, will say how appropriate it was the training and the
exercises for you.
The Age:
When we talk about flexibility we are luckfull. On the children this
ability is naturally larger than in the adults. The children have a
very larger mobility of the extension of the muscles. It happen because
their body is in constant formation process. A 5 year-old boy can reach
a over split in few months while an adult would need take some years.
However there are children who don't share of the same elasticity that
other. These particularities exist because to the genetic factors inside
of our body and it become our bony and muscular formation different.
Take a look at the below image sample. A children with "flat foot"
would never get to do this.
